2025 Zayed Award Ceremony

Celebrate Barbados’ humanitarian legacy:

The international Zayed Award for Human Fraternity annual ceremony was held on February 4, 2025 – the United Nations-recognized International Day of Human Fraternity – and celebrated the award’s 2025 honorees.

The ceremony began with a powerful music performance from youth performers including Putri Ariana, as seen on America’s Got Talent. Following the performance, there were segments showcasing the humanitarian impact of past award recipients – including the Foundation for Knowledge and Liberty in Haiti – and the members of the judging committee of the award including Commonwealth Secretary-General Patricia Scotland.

The peak of the ceremony honored the 2025 award recipients. For the first honoree – Barbados’ Prime Minister the Hon. Mia Mottley – there was an inspiring and uplifting video spotlighting the honoree’s achievements in changing our world and advancing humanitarian causes. Each honoree was presented with the award by a member of the honoree’s community who the honoree has helped. The honoree gave their acceptance speech.
